Antique Ottoman Kilij Saber – 19th Century
Offered here is an authentic Ottoman Empire kilij saber, dating to the 19th century. This traditional curved sword features the classic wide, flaring blade tip (yalman) that made the kilij famous for its devastating cutting ability. The blade shows evidence of age, with visible patina, spotting, and some oxidation, yet retains its elegant Ottoman profile and subtle signs of pattern-welded construction.
The hilt is fitted with a simple iron cross-guard and leather-wrapped grip reinforced with rivets and iron backstrap. Measuring approximately [insert length], this piece is a fine example of a genuine working Ottoman saber rather than a purely decorative reproduction.
A true collector’s piece, this sword carries the history of the Ottoman cavalry and warriors who carried such blades into battle across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.
Condition: Good for age; blade shows wear, dark patina, and oxidation. Grip remains intact, guard solid. No scabbard present.
