Beautiful antique European dress sword dating to the mid-to-late 1800s. This elegant court / smallsword features a Solingen-made etched blade with floral motifs, a mother-of-pearl grip, and an ornate gilded brass guard in Rococo style.
These ceremonial swords were carried by officers, diplomats, and dignitaries as part of formal dress—not for combat but as symbols of rank and prestige. The blade is etched with classic scrollwork and retains visible detail. The pierced guard, urn pommel, and decorative knuckle bow show fine craftsmanship. Original red felt washer still present.
Tang is stamped “H. Ⅲ”, an authentic fitter’s/assembly mark used in Solingen and Austrian workshops to match blade and hilt components.
